B.E Civil Engineering
About the Department
The Department of Civil Engineering was established during 2009 with an aim of promoting high quality education in the field of Civil Engineering. The department presently having an intake of 30 students per batch and it has well equipped laboratories. In the ongoing Outcome Based Education (OBE) process, the curriculum has been framed to provide needful scope for the learners through the CBCS. A demonstrated capability of the department is endorsed by the on-going sponsored and a curiosity driven research project besides consultancy works. Dynamic, Experienced and committed faculty with more accountability is strength of the department.
Civil Engineering is a very diverse profession and offers a wide range of activities across a variety of disciplines such as Surveying, Environmental Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Transport Engineering Remote Sensing & GIS Applications and Hydraulic Engineering etc.,
Civil Engineering focuses on the application of physical and scientific principles for solving the problems of society, and its history is intricately linked to knowledge of structures, materials science, geography, geology, soil mechanics, hydrology and advance in understanding of physics and mathematics.
Civil Engineering is a professional Engineering discipline that deals with the design, construction, and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment, including works like roads, bridges, canals, dams, airports, harbours, buildings and ensure that the houses live in are structurally sound as well as improving the lives of people. By continuously developing infrastructures and upgrading the services and facilities to the public, with a sense of responsibility towards humanity for well-being of the society. Hence Civil Engineers are backbone and an integral part of society, without them a society could not function.
The Department has a team of highly experienced faculty members with rich academic and industrial experience in various frontier Engineering and technology areas. The faculty members and students of the department are dedicated to work in the current needs of the industry and have the ability to improve their expertise in the field in Civil Engineering. They continuously excel in specialized areas of Structural Analysis & Design, Structural Optimization, Concrete Technology, Steel Structures, Environmental Engineering, Construction Management, Transportation Engineering, Earthquake Engineering, Remote Sensing, Impact Assessment and Prestressed Concrete Structures.
The Department continuously growing in terms of academic, placements, co- curricular and extra-curricular activities, projects and consultancy activities. Many of our students involve in developing the solutions for real time industrial problems and participate in national level and international level competitions and brought laurel to the department.
